From Vision to Reality

Orvidaywo Kitchen & Bar opened its doors in 2018, born from a simple belief: exceptional dining should feel both elevated and welcoming. What began as a small neighbourhood bistro has grown into a destination for those seeking memorable culinary experiences.

Our founders, longtime friends united by their love of hospitality, envisioned a space where the formality of fine dining meets the warmth of gathering with loved ones. That vision shapes every decision we make, from selecting farmers to designing our seasonal menus.

The name Orvidaywo draws inspiration from the idea of an everyday escape—a place where routine transforms into ritual, and meals become moments worth savouring.

What Guides Us

Our values are not just words on a wall. They influence how we source ingredients, train our team, and welcome every guest who walks through our door.

Integrity in Sourcing

We maintain direct relationships with over twenty local producers. Knowing where our ingredients come from allows us to guarantee freshness while supporting the agricultural community that sustains us all.

Craft Over Convenience

Our bread is baked in-house each morning. Sauces simmer for hours. Desserts are finished to order. Taking the longer path yields results that shortcuts simply cannot match.

Hospitality as Art

Service extends beyond refilling glasses. Our team learns to read the room, anticipate needs, and adapt to each table's rhythm. Genuine care cannot be scripted.

Environmental Responsibility

Composting, minimal food waste, and energy-efficient equipment are standard practice here. Delicious dining should not come at the planet's expense.

The Kitchen

Our culinary team brings together diverse backgrounds and shared ambition. Led by Executive Chef Raymond Okonkwo, the kitchen operates as a tight-knit crew where collaboration trumps hierarchy.

Chef Raymond trained in Montreal and Vancouver before joining Orvidaywo in its founding year. His approach blends classical techniques with bold experimentation, always grounded in respect for ingredients. Under his leadership, the team develops quarterly menus that reflect seasonal availability and creative inspiration.

Beyond the head chef, our sous chefs, pastry team, and line cooks bring years of combined experience from kitchens across Canada and abroad. Their dedication shows in every plate that leaves the pass.

Our Commitment to Community

Being part of the neighbourhood means giving back. Each quarter, we partner with a local charity for a dedicated fundraising dinner. Past partners include food banks, youth culinary programs, and environmental organizations.

We also host culinary workshops for aspiring chefs and offer internship opportunities for hospitality students. Investing in the next generation of restaurant professionals strengthens the entire industry.

Looking Forward

Growth at Orvidaywo is intentional rather than aggressive. We have no plans to franchise or expand rapidly. Instead, we focus on deepening what we do here—refining our craft, strengthening supplier relationships, and creating ever more meaningful experiences for our guests.

The restaurant industry evolves constantly, and we embrace change while honouring tradition. Whatever the future holds, our commitment to quality and hospitality remains unwavering.
